Actually, Assassins throughout the history of the order have all been from different religious faiths and beliefs, mirroring the message at the start of each game. So it would not be odd to see an Islamic Assassin and a Christian Assassin in the same branch of the Order. They promote freedom after all. Get your facts straight or don't say anything at all.
