I think Edward is an Assassin but unique in his belief. Otherwise why would we be playing him and not some other Assassin footsoldier?
If we do get an Assassin-Templar team up that'd be cool seeing as they tried it in ACIII I hope they do it again. What I want to see is drama. REAL drama. I want to see a man visibly tortured by his duty and heritage and infinitly as deadly and proficient as all the former Assassins combined. Altair really had nothing to start with, just a soldier who made it up the ranks. Ezio had alot but lost it in one blow way too quickly. He got over it pretty quickly in his revenge rampage as you only really feel sad for him in the first hour or two of gameplay. Connor was practically a statesman with unconventional campaigning methods. He was too uptight to be fun for me. I want Edward to be the guy who says 'fuck the Creed' and does it his way, completely unpredictable. I want him to do things that will make the player question his morality like... kill a baby (not really but something just as shocking). If they could put the psychological trauma that Daniel Cross went through in Edward that'd be awesome, a criminal trying to drink away the shame of his past; make the player love him, despise him, and pity him all at once.
Just what I though....
