He may not be a enemy, just someone Connor dislikes. Connor likely shall become a allie to the colonials and he may like or dislike some yet still help them. Just like Shaun was with Desmond in AC 2, he seemed to dislike him but still was a allie to him, just not a friend... But i would like to remember that in AC Brotherhood they were more friendly or a least respecting towards each other, the same thing may happen betwen Adams and Connor.
