What about the brun mark? Altair maked it useless to cut off the ringfinger but they didint forgot it, they made it a traditional to burn mark the ringfinger insteed. In AC2 they brun marked Ezio on the ringfinger to identify him in "the creed". Maybe it's not a tattoo.
