If we look at the official soundtrack, disc 1 and 2 mainly, you can see that its about 50/50. Now I have heard more pieces from Balfe and Kyd that were not on the main OST, but can be found on Youtube. Stating that it is 50/50 is a good calculation I think :) You are right about the fact that most of Balfe's music is indeed the main theme with different variations, but I don't mind, its beautiful :)
