Rome, they have addressed the issue several times now, at least three times at IGN of which one was to a major worldwide crowd; if it was a lie, I doubt they would say it so many times, because that would be guaranteed to have backlash for them. The point is that they have said that Connor will kill Templars on both sides of the war, they didn't say "we will show Connor killing continental Templars in our promotional material." I'm not judging before I see it in the final game, even though the promotion is one-sided.
