Now we all know who Ripper is, a unidentified criminal who killed 5 prostitues back in 1880's.

My idea is in no way challenging what he actually was. But it's another take in a way.

First of all, Jack is actually a Assassin hunting Templars down in Victorian England. You see, the Templars want to halt down his progress. So what they do is they kill those 5 prostitues in a serial killer fashion, and frame Jack. That way his job becomes all the more harder.

So things become more..personal. Since he is now slandered and reduced to nothing but a serial killer in the public eye.

Also, historically speaking, Jack was sort of Assassin like. Disappearing right away after his killings and all, and he was never identified.

And, may I add, some people may say we done this before with The Doctor, it could make sense. Prostitues are the easiest of the Assassin allies to hurt, so they constantly attack them.
