MMm well I think that Claudia (that's what the book says) got married...just after she "quits" from the Convent (she was a Nun)...so that argument about "courtesan in Rome" is a litle bit risky to say..and yeap it will be cool that Maria be alive...but it will be cooler that she was alive and "NORMAL"..not like how she was in ACII...
