Guys I believe you all forgot that, after Desmond and Lucy fell to the ground we see that Lucy's bleeding...heavily! The apple wasn't working at that time any more. I hope I'm mistaken but if you consider this tiny fact, it's pretty unusual that all this was an illusion and Lucy's still alive. But honestly, I hope, pray, beg...that it indeed was an illusion...
