My dad was under the impression that they were biassing against the Greeks because the Byzantines were the primary enemy... When in actuality the Templars actually only corrupted a small faction or so of Byzantine soldiers... What surprised me was Ahmet's involvment in the whole act... I thought it would just be Manuel Paliologos... (Pretty sure I spelled his name wrong). The reason why it looked like the Templars were focusing on the Assassins is because of that. When the Ottoman Empire invaded Greece and took Constantinople for its own and started calling it "Istanbul" Which is a crappy name for a city... no offense... to anyone who is Turkish... I have nothing against your countrymen or you... I just hate the name... The Templars saw that they could manipulate the Byzantine Empire so they could hopefully exert their barbaric influence in Greece... remember... once the Templars were forced to leave Italy.. because of Ezio Auditore, they wanted to take over another region of Europe. Slate is right, it's because of the Templars wanting to restore the Byzantine Empire... but the Templars couldn't care less about the Byzantines as they manipulated a small faction of them to do their evil bidding... the concept of world peace and order sounds very good but remember that their methods were unethical... the Assassins may have killed and fought to retain serenity... but... this was only to ensure influence... the Assassins are the good guys... even if they too... kill...
