You're in the wrong place if you think everybody's going to agree with you. Part of what AC does well is taking you to unexpected places, & that applies to the story too. And how does brawling, gunfights & carriages not fit AC? You can see here that it fits the series quite well. You could just as easily argue that having a ship doesn't fit AC, but Black Flag made it work really well.
