Furthermore, if I may dust off an old chestnut, you realize it's actually directly implied in ACII? In the "Altaïr sequence", after Altaïr and Maria have intercourse, Desmond stops following Altaïr and becomes "stuck" with Maria--who is now, of course, carrying Altaïr's child. I ask you this: Why would the memory start from Altaïr's point-of-view, and then change to his child's POV mid-sequence?
