Who says it was meant to? We don't know. That argument isn't quite correct in my opinion. We didn't start out with Altaïr at his birth, because we didn't NEED to see it. That's the point. We only play/see the memories that are IMPORTANT. We could have been watching Ezio before he was born for nine months, but they skipped it.

To get to your other statement, they're not Phaistos discs... they're never called as such... And people think that, because it is stated like that! Jesus! The Animus is only to view memories via DNA, just pay attention to what is said in the games instead of basing your theories on assumption! There don't need to be theories on the... areas of confirmed... stuff...
