@DragonBlade1: the last part of your post is exactly what I was saying. The armor is indestructible, and surely a cannonball isn't going to be its demise.

But think about it: the Abstergo lab is in Italy, and therefore so is Desmond. Monteriggoni is also in Italy, and so I think that it is reasonable to conclude that Rebecca, Shaun, Lucy, and Desmons are all going back there (at least for a small "pit stop"), and then Desmond collects Altair's Armor from there.

Then, they will probably get attacked by teh Templars, who have been using the NASA satelites to track them. But, with Altair's armor, and (what appears to be) Ezio's hidden blade, they're no match for Desmond.
