My brother and I discussed this a while ago and came to the conclusion that the AC series has been following a certain route, the movement of the Templars throughout the world, and the next place they went was France. Hence, why I believe the next location would be the French Revolution. Shaun Hastings mentioned the two symbols projected by the Apple of Eden in 2012, which only appear together in one place, the French Revolution. Not only this, you've also got the final (Known) Templar Grandmaster being burned to the stake, and the alleged disbandment of the Templars by King Philip IV and Pope Clement V. At the burning, the Grandmaster told the two that he would see the both of them in hell within the year. Both King Philip IV and Pope Clement V died within the year. This makes for an interesting story and much potential for assassinations and conspiricies. Making it a perfect AC location.
