User blog:The.Outsider/Human side to Connor...
I don't know if this is a bit much to ask, but I really hope we get quite a long time to play as a normal Connor. Similar to the way we were a normal florentine 17 year old with Ezio (in AC2). I believe that if we are able to experience Connor as a normal native Mohawk, we will be able to connect with the character more &, in the proccess, connect with his tribe members & even his mother. This will help us to understand Connor's emotions when the innevitable happens. We will also be able to understand him more, before he becomes the mass murdering assassin we all know him as.
I think this will happen, because in a screenshot we see a very young Connor (probably around 10-13) pinned up against a tree. We also see, in one of the screenshots in EDGE, what I believe is Connor, still dressed in normal native clothes with no hood, (around 15-17) running on a fallen tree to save a man fallen into a fast flowing river. This leads me to believe that we will have more time as the normal Connor than in previous AC games, as Ezio & Altair. The reason being that we may possibly see him grow from a young boy to a man (possibly from a baby?), & then as his tale begins, into.... an assassin!
Is anybody else hoping for this?
Middle, far left screenshot - Coming back to this screen shot, I believe that this takes place right after Connor's tribe is destroyed. This could be how he aquires his colonial name. He may encounter this man as he is escaping, then the man shouts for help. This man may support the people who murdered his tribe/village. He may initially feel angered at the thought of helping him, but then his conscious gets to him; he then helps the man. In return the man takes him in & provides refuge. Connor refuses to tell the man his real name, so he nicknames him Connor. As Connor is about to leave, he is told that people don't respond very well to natives & he is told to use the man's last name of... Kenway. Connor moves on, & that is how his tale begins. Of course this all could be nonsense, & Connor may just receive his last name from his father. But hey ho, It's good to speculate.
