User blog:Cloverfield monster/I feel like people care more about graphics nowadays.
You know, it feels like a lot of modern gamers nowadays think that graphics are the most important thing in a game. They're not. It's gameplay that counts. I've been noticing this in a lot of game places, such as Youtube videos, and other game wikias. Why are graphics considered so important when in reality, it's gameplay that matters. Take Super Mario Bros. (I'm talking about the original, but you can pick whichever one you want in the series). That game had pixelated graphics and 8-bit stuff, but the gameplay rocked. That's why it was so successful. Think of it this way for those who think otherwise.
Would you want to play a game that looked like real life but was so broken it was unplayable? That's what I thought.
I'm not saying graphics aren't important. When taken time to, they can look really good. But, I do think that gameplay should come first, graphics should come second.
What do you think? Do you feel like gamers focus too much on graphics nowadays?
