User blog:A.J. two/An argument to the Conception Theory.
Okay, so, the wiki at large accepts that the Anius stops letting the user view the memories of a certain ancsestor once the next descendant is conceived. This is because of Desmond's, out-of-the-Animus Bleeding Effect hallucionation in ACII, where he controlled Altair up until he "did it" with Maria Thorpe, upon which the Desmond stops following Altair, and instead the scene focuses on Maria's womb, showing the payer that the next generation was conceived. Now, I did believe this "Conception Theory" at first, before I began extensively editing the wiki, but not I have doubts, for multiple reasons. I have made this blog to put out my arguments for that theory, which are laid out below:

The Seals of Altair[edit | edit source]
In Revelations, as far as we know, Ezio, through the Phaistos Discs, relieves Altair impressed memories. From what we understand, these memories take place after the above mentioned conception scene in ACII. Now, it is believed, and in some cases assumed, that the Phaistos Discs are actually technology (possibly even PoE's) created by Those Who Came Before. This would make sense, as TWCB's inventioned have so many different uses, one that allows a person to view past memories is not past the line of believableness.
Now, it was mentioned either in AC1 or ACII that the Animi were based off of technology created by TWCB. Now, wouldn't it be logical to assume that The Animi were created using the abilities of the Phaisto Discs, considering how similar their functions are? So, here is where the argument comes in: Since it is most likely true that the Phaistos Discs, called the "Seals of Altair" in-same and by Ubisoft, were able to show Altair memories after the conception of his child, why do people assume that the Animi, which are assumed to be created using the technology of those Seals and are probably even more technogoloically advanced then the Discs themselves, would be limited to those memories?
Now, I realize that this theory probably doesn't make that much sense, and there are problems that can be exploited by the nay-sayers to show that it is wrong (I won't say what, because they'll find them whether I do or not), but just think about it for a moment.
Ezio's Birth[edit | edit source]
This theory was brought on by a discussion on Subjec 16*'s ACR news blog. Basically, everyone was talking about whether or not Ezio would die in Revelations, since Ubisoft said it was his last game. It got to the point where everyone was talking about Ezio's child, and when he/she would've had to've been conceived within the story, because of the limitations set by the Conception Theory. I made a correction, in that, because Subject 16 and Desmond were linked Ezio, as he was their closest common ancestor, Ezio would've actually had to've had two children, possible either twins or by two different mothers around the same time.
This is what started my wanting to make this blog. Basically, I made the comment about Desmond going in and experiencing Ezio's birth while the Animus synced S16 and Desmond, so that Lucy could get the data for Rebecca. Now, this got me thinking: It is going to the closest common ancestor, so why isn't it showing Ezio right after he was conceived, rather than going to when he was born?
This is why this is an argumentive point: It the Animus will only allow the user to watch the ancestor's memories up until the next descendant is conceived, why did the Animus, in sycning the two subjects together, go, not to when Ezio was conceived, which it should have, but to when he was born, which doesn't make any sense?
Addendum[edit | edit source]
These are the points I've found and can remember now.
