They're a large tech firm, which would allow them to power the servers and tech development that an Animus would require. Their security background would explain the numbers of security guards Vidic has to throw around. They're also a part of a large conglomerate, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, which has divisions called Urban Development and Advanced Technologies.
