The Tonbridge Monastery was a monastery in Kent, England, located by the south of the Medeuuage River.
Circa 874, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir travelled to the monastery on behalf of the abbot Cynebert to locate an emissary of King Aelfred of the Wessex. Travelling to the nearby inn, Eivor got word of a bard by the name of Gowan had spent the night before drinking with the emissary.[1]
Some time after these events, Eivor returned with her longship and crew members of the Raven Clan, raiding the monastery for raw materials and cargo for their settlement of Ravensthorpe.[2]
