Tiferet was a woman who lived in Ukbara, near Baghdad, during the 9th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

By the 860s, Tiferet had recently lost her mother, who had made a living making pottery. When she returned to her mother's estate to try and recover a treasure from within, she found a flood had partially submerged the home, rendering her attempts to enter futile. Angry at being denied entry, she began shouting and attracted the attention of the passing Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq, who offered his help to recover the treasure in exchange for a fee.[1]

Tiferet reluctantly accepted his offer and said her mother had hidden the prize inside a blue lustreware amphora. After swimming into the water-damaged house, Basim found the container. Once it was broken open, revealing its contents to be a sizable lump of copper, Tiferet explained how she intended to use it to make more lustreware. She then paid Basim for his aid before the Hidden One left.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Depending on the player's choice, the vase holding the copper can be broken earlier or not, which affected the fee Basim received.[1]
