DanSP, a watermark is a secondary image which is overlaid on the primary image, and provides a means of protecting the image, refer to this link for more information: http://www.research.ibm.com/image_apps/watermark.html Also, watermarked images are against the wiki image policy, image sourcing policy as you recently uploaded a few images which you seem to have forgot to add the source for them (initially).
