It is not part of the necessary article content. It doesn't add information, it adds insight on perspective. Removing the quotes will make the articles just as informative on its actual primary subject. They are not paragraphs which contain the primary information of the article.
And I don't think you really get what I mean by the coding. The quotes float in the article. Placing them right next to an infobox or image makes that redundant. And with "other media" I was not referring to other wikis. I was talking about newspapers, online news articles, books. That kind of media. They don't place quotes right next to images.
And the thing about it being easier to read weren't my own words, they were other people's. I already had my eyes tested two weeks ago, they're fine.
