You don't collect badges - you earn them. You don't go to someone's talk page, make a pointless message only to get the badge. That is badgehunting. You don't ACTIVELY go after the badges, you simply earn them as you progress through the wiki. By the way, it's not "part" of the wiki, we simply enabled them as a form of reward, not to go collect them and then brag about being high on the leaderboard. ;)
