Thomas Gainsborough (1727 – 1788) was an English portrait and landscape painter.[1] Around 1785, he was hired to paint Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire's portrait; the notorious German thief Adam Worth stole the art from Thomas Agnew & Sons's gallery in 1876.[2]
