"Thjodolf! I can compose a more beautiful poem with my belching than you could with your tongue and fine words!"
―Halli challenging Thjodolf.[src]-[m]

Thjodolf was a Norse skald.

Once, while drinking at Stavanger, the poet Halli challenged him to a flyting match, which he happily accepted. Thjodolf composed a quick verse, causing the room and Halli himself to laugh. On Halli's turn, however, he tripped while crossing the room and opened his mouth to speak his verse, only to vomit onto Thjodolf.[1]
