The George

The George was a pub in the City of London borough of London during the 19th century.

History

In 1868, the British Assassin Jacob Frye entered the establishment after being told by his ally Duleep Singh about a man named Cornelius Toti-Button, a friend of the Royal Jeweller, drinking there. Talking to Cornelius, Jacob engaged in a drinking match with the man, which led to them leaving the pub as Jacob questioned Cornelius about the location of the Koh-i-Noor diamond.
