Teuta was a helot slave working under Lanike at her farm within in Lakonia during the 5th century BCE.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra came to the farm as she had heard it was experiencing some problems. Lanike suggested she talk to her helot slaves, and in return for talking with her, Teuta asked the mishios to bring her some mint for her upset belly.
