Temple of Athena Poliouchos

The Temple of Athena Poliouchos was a temple complex located in a sanctuary on the acropolis of the city of Gortyn in the region of Minos' Legacy in Messara, Greece. It was dedicated to the goddess Athena, one of the city's main deities, alongside Apollo and Demeter.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, a small temple in the complex was used as a military treasury. The Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the complex and looted the treasures.[2]
