This article is about the temple of Athena in Athens. For other uses, see Temple of Athena.

The Temple of Athena Nike ('Athena the Victorious') was a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Nike on the Akropolis Sanctuary in Athens, Greece.
History[edit | edit source]
The site was used as a site of worship to Athena Nike as early as the 6th century BCE by settlers from the Mycenaean period. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the Greco-Persian Wars. However, it was rebuilt during the Peloponnesian War as a temple. As Nike was the personification of victory, the Athenians hoped rebuilding it would bring glory to Athens.[1]
Also during the time, the temple was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Historically, the Temple was built from 449 BCE until it was finished around 420 BCE, as such finishing construction work and scaffolding is accurately depicted in game.[3]
