Tasmania

Tasmania is an island state of Australia. Formerly a British colony, it officially became a state of Australia after the latter declared independence from the United Kingdom. During the 19th century, the Colony of Tasmania was advertised as holiday destination for people from the United Kingdom wishing to visit the colonies of the British Empire. Tasmania was advertised as being "a fertile land with a wealth of exotic animals".
