Ezio's Counterpart[edit source]

So.. is he Ezio's counterpart, like his equal, or Ezio is higher in rank? Killeras 13:20, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

Yusuf was the "Leader of the Turkish Assassins", as this was the position Dogan took over when he died. (Years of crying!) So, unless the hierarchy of the Turkish Assassin Branch is different than that of the Italian Branch, then no, he wasn't the same rank as Ezio. Ezio was the Mentor of the Italian Branch, so I think there would be, somewhere, a Mentor of the Turkish Branch. But perhaps they didn't have a Mentor at that time... I'm not sure. But Yusuf made a pretty big deal about Ezio being a Mentor when they first met. Not to mention all the Assassins in their Headquarters give him a nice bow and always call him Mentor- something I never saw them do with Yusuf. Vivienne North 07:43, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
leader and Mentor are both different titles, in that Mentor was the title given to wise and skillful leaders who had trained a large amount of apprentices. Yusuf did not meet the qualifications for Mentor, so he wasn't one. Should also not that both Mario and Machiavelli were ordinary leaders as well, while Ezio became a Mentor. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:11, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

I just found another video and it reveals that Yusuf will be killed. Should that be put on? The Great Dog Demon 00:23, November 15, 2011 (UTC)The Great Dog Demon

I'm sorry - I'm not sure if this goes here, but I hope someone notices. I swear there is a note attached the the dagger that stabs Yusuf (since the dagger changes, it is attached to all of them). Anyone know the significance of this? Or is it just meant to be a page from some random book? Kovitlac 20:28, December 1, 2011 (UTC)

Birthplace[edit source]

Not questioning the article here, just wanting to know where we know he was born in Bursa from? Mercenari 10:55, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

It's written at the beginning of his Database article. =GuardDog 11:04, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

Just another arabic contrib.

Yusuf Tazim (most likely يوسف تعظيم) is a very peculiar name. Yusuf itself is very common in the Middle East as it is the arabic version of Joseph. It is of Hebrew origin and generally means "to grow" or "to enlarge". Tazim however is not common. The name is most probably another made up name by Ubisoft for its characters. The surname "Tazim" comes from the arabic word for "honored status" or "majesty" for it used to refer to Suadi Arabian monarchs and Gulf princes and Sheikhs. The name loosely means "To Grow With Honor" or "To Enlarge In Majesty", a suitible name. (Arabian411269 17:42, March 9, 2012 (UTC))

Interesting, I never knew that. Thanks for the info. The Leaping Eagle (talk) 11:23, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

"Da Istanbul " ( second trivia fact )[edit source]

I don't know why the second trivia fact about Yusuf's joke ( Yusuf Tazim da Istanbul ) is surprising .

So what if he was born in Bursa ?

Another example is Ezio's father , Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, who adds the 'da Firenze' to his name despite

not being born there ( he was born in Monterggioni if i'm not wrong ? )

Thanks for clarification . 79.182.141.46 00:13, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

It may be odd because Giovanni knows the implications of calling oneself "da Firenze", and perhaps he doesn't use it to mean "born in" Florence, but simply "of" Florence (or something similar). Yusuf on the other hand has never heard the term before - Ezio explains it as "born in", so you'd think Yusuf would use "da Bursa", or "born in" Bursa. =GuardDog 00:28, October 2, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks ! Now that you've said that it makes sense. I know this isn't the place for assumptions but Giovanni
probably wanted to erase any connection to Montereggioni , which is an Assassin stronghold, because he pretended to be a regular banker ( an auditor :) ) 79.182.141.46 11:53, October 2, 2012 (UTC)
