Bug no longer present[edit source]

The bug mentioned here is not in the game anymore. I played the quests and didn't finish the story yet and could reqruit Hipocrates.

I didn't want to edit the page just because of my experience, i think it needs some more testing. Melantrix (talk) 15:35, June 17, 2020 (UTC)

Not Able to Recruit Hippokrates[edit source]

I did this questline immediately after completing Athens's Last Hope and can confirm that I was not given the option to recruit Hippokrates. The dialogue simply ended with the quest, and if spoken to again he only replied "Forgive me, misthios. There are many who still need my help." Rwalker151 (talk) 03:38, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Huh. I can't say I know what to do, as I haven't tried it myself, but you must have missed something or done some quests out of order, because as PowerPyx shows here, players can recruit Hippokrates. – Darman (talk) 04:10, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
I came back to edit because I found this on a Steam forum. I asked him about his baldness during First Do No Harm, and I did Speak no Evil before finishing The Doctor Will See You Now. I've been following this guide exclusively throughout my entire playthrough, and none of that was mentioned anywhere. It's a bit disappointing because either of those things alone are apparently enough to make it impossible to recruit him. Rwalker151 (talk) 05:42, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Ouch. I'm glad you found a fix, but that always sucks when it's too late for you. I take it you can't reload an earlier save point because so many other story/side missions were in-between, instead of doing all of Hippokrates' quests at once? – Darman (talk) 14:00, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, no. It's far too late to go back now. I really enjoy taking my time and exploring a lot, doing random message board quests and player-created ones. I've been at it for a few hundred hours now, and I completed the first Hippokrates questline some time ago. I also found out that he's not an actual "Lieutenant," but instead walks around the ship with Barnabas and Herodotus, which is actually like another little punch in the gut, but I've moved on. Hopefully someone else will see this be helped. Rwalker151 (talk) 19:14, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Ahh, yeah, I've had that before when I killed someone I shouldn't have and found out waaay too late. Funnily, we both play the same way, with loads of side-quests and exploration and then main plot. Despite your unfortunate circumstance, the experience you detailed and above link will help later people, because I'll work this week on adding the OP's notes on what responses players should pick/avoid in relevant "Behind the scenes" sections for the mission memory pages. – Darman (talk) 02:40, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
I appreciate you taking the time to do that. And yeah, I can't even imagine just rushing through the main story. Spending time and getting immersed really gives much more meaning to it all. To each their own, though, there's no wrong way. Chaire. Rwalker151 (talk) 05:22, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
