So, John have lost his title of The first Assassin in the Colonies ... I fear this is the first retcon of many to come, maybe the Colonial Brotherhood will be shown as active before the arrival of Achilles or if the authors respect continuity, Stoddard is part of the British Brotherhood but active in America like for Washington's Templar old brother. Yes, I think it's likely Tom Stoddard is an envoy of the British Brotherhood. They could easily explain this by the lack of proper communication between the different Brotherhoods, so Achilles knowing about Tom Stoddard is reasonably unlikely. Also bear in mind that Utopia (yes, it's cancelled so it may not be canon) would have had the Assassins in the colonies in the 17th century as well. Then there's also the reference in the AC3 multiplayer to Roanoke and it being an "Assassins' Colony".

Retcons have been there since AC2. Remember that database entry in AC3 saying Connor was the first Native American Assassin? At the time of Revelations I had already compiled two pages' worth of retcons, and I think that'd be surely tripled by now. -- Master Sima Yi _Talk 12:00, July 27, 2015 (UTC)

Rename?

It's mostly because he's referred to as "Tom" in most instances. At least, he is pretty much everywhere I've seen his name mentioned.--Bovkaffe (talk) 18:52, January 19, 2016 (UTC)

I feel like we should stick with the full name - anyone who types in "Tom Stoddard" will be sent to this page, and on the page itself, he'll probably be referred to simply as "Stoddard". It's not a big deal, but we don't use "Dobby Carter" either, even though she's probably never referred to as "Deborah" (as far as I remember anyways). Hi,

Shouldn't this photo be the main one?  The actual one is not even "Canon" as it is from a Cover which is not even serious. And, in that photo, he doesn't even looks like how he actually is in the Comics. DipsonDP (talk) 04:34, May 9, 2016 (UTC)
