Unsourced image[edit source]

This is an unsourced image? LOL. It's exactly the same image, but no background.

Yes, but you're supposed to mention that in the image description. Also, we generally don't make renders of comic book images.--Bovkaffe (talk) 22:58, December 28, 2017 (UTC)

Unclear BtS note[edit source]

"For unclear reasons, Seijin is regularly referred to as 'Masato'."

What does this mean? Regularly referred to as "Masato" where? In the comic? If so, how do we know the character's name to be Seijin instead? Does the comic alternate between Seijin and Masato? This note needs to be more informative about the issue. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 18:40, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Sorry, I wasn't sure how best to put that bullet point. In Penguin Book's blurb for Volume 1, the protagonist is named as Yanao Seijin, but in an online scan I found of Chapter 1, Masato's name is on the synchronization chart on pg 33 of Chapter 1 and we know Seijin just relived Edward's memories. Rereading it again, though, it might be referring to a "Masato Yagyu" mentioned two pages earlier? I think it's the guy who wakes Seijin, since he doesn't have Saejima's narrow soulpatch and Irene says it when Seijin is walking away at the end of Ch. 1 and can't hear her. – Darman (talk) 19:05, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
The thing is that the character's given name 聖人 can be read either Seijin or Masato and now I could be wrong, but from what I know of Japanese practice, the right way to read it just depends on the individual themselves (or, you know, the parents who gave them the name). But it sounds like you don't have actual access to the whole comic? We can't really verify this discrepancy you bring up with just an online scan giving a glimpse of a page or two. As the trivia point stands right now, it's really not acceptable because it is so vague and unclear, and you yourself put a {{Cite}} and don't seem to be sure about the point it is raising. After a quick search on Google, it appears that Yagyū Masato and Yanao Seijin are one and the same character. Sora has informed me that the former is the actual name used for the character in the collected volumes. Perhaps our article was misnamed to begin with? Damn. Maybe mistranslation on the publisher's part is the reason we named it such? I just know I'd moved [File:AC Awakening Yanao Seijin.png] from the kanji characters initially used to the name based on what Penguin said, though I don't know where this image comes from specifically. For transparency, I read the comic via Comixology, but it only has issues 1-6. More confusingly, Titan Comics' promos for it use "Masato Yaguu" instead. – Darman (talk) 20:05, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Just so I don't replicate a translation error elsewhere, am I reading it correctly that the manga has translated Sage in Chapter 4 from English to Japanese and then back again as literally "Wise One"? – Darman (talk) 23:50, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
I can't access the comic, and I am assuming I would need both the Japanese and English version to check. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:22, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
