Talk:Easter eggs
Bible[edit source]
Someone needs to add the bible in properly. I tried to add it and it was removed, even though it was clearly a reference (and far more of a reference than some of the others on the page).
Only reason I can think of for it not to be on there is that it's a touchy subject, but if the game made the reference then you've no right to remove it. 86.143.39.155 18:13, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed it's an obvious reference to the Bible, but not even remotely constituting an easter egg. It's more of a sarcastic remark on Vidic's part than a nod to anything, humorous or otherwise. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:44, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
Seems to me that the Mario thing is more an obvious shout out than an easter egg. It's not even remotely hidden.
easter eggs don't have to be hidden there is one in gta 4 the ballad of gay tony, there is a referrence to vice city, the radio station is called vice city, and the music sounds similar to that of the game vice city MegaHyperNova 06:48, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Why the hell does it call Sackboy's Ezio outfit for LBP the "Purple Assassin" outfit? It's not purple. It's his ordinary assassin's gear from the 2nd game. 122.104.203.226 11:15, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
Shawnshank Redemption[edit source]
Maybe I'm just getting this one wrong, but it seems to me that it is much rather a coincidence and not an easter-egg. There's just a tree, a stone and a chest, right? Now that's not that uncommon for a game. Long story short, can this section be removed? StPerkele 19:03, May 14, 2011 (UTC)
LittleBigPlanet Ezio Outfit[edit source]
Seriously, i've had enough of this. It's not the "Purple Assassin" costume. I own the costume in-game. I will not argue with Wikipedia, because, frankly, whoever edited it's Wikipedia page and wrote that is a moron. CryptoKiller 07:49, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Source it then. Show an in-game pic. --WarClown Frequency: 149.94 09:11, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Fine. I'll try to upload it tomorrow. CryptoKiller 10:04, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
Star Trek Romulan Star Empire homeworld 'Romulus'[edit source]
No one else made the connection yet? Could be a reference to ST's Romulus in the 'Armour of Romulus' found in AC:B. The4th1 16:59, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Erm i dont think so, and its the Armor of Brutus. Keep in mind, Romulus is also a legend in real life. Subject 12 17:05, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Dancer under rosa in fiore[edit source]
You can see flashing (switch?) and blue dancer under rosa in fiore using your eagle vision. Dancer can be seen through water behind the building. If you watch him/she long enough, he/she will start falling and eventually fades away. I'm not sure if this is easter egg or just bug.

Captain Price in Assassin's Creed II?[edit source]
There is one video showed that "Captain Price", a character from "Call of Duty" series, showed up in ACII - only near to the end of the game; you know where you have to get in the castle and kill the main antagonist. Here's a proof;

Revamp[edit source]
I think this page really needs a revamp. Could someone kindly add the template for it?

In dead island there is a knife called "Assassins Greed"
Removable sections?[edit source]
I'd like to have some opinions on some of these so-called Easter Eggs, which don't seem intentional to me at all.
These being:
- Palazzo Ducale: Entering it is a glitch, not an easter egg. The world never changes in AC2, so the chess pieces are obviously in the same position as they used to be. And the sky changes its colour for an obvious reason: The room only appears in a cinematic cutscene, so these little tricks are used by the developers in order to create atmosphere.
- Abduction (2011 film): Seriously, there are loads of examples of guys with a similar scar. And blendings with a crowd is nothing that only appears in AC too. I highly doubt that this is supposed to be a reference.
- Dragon Age II: Not too sure about these too, to be honest. They might actually be references, but they just seem much too subtle for that.
- Hero Smash: Same as above.. It could be a reference, but I doubt it.
- Killzone 3: The helmets don't really resemble an Assassin hood. And hidden blade like weapons were used in movies and games long before AC.
- LittleBig Planet: If we keep that one, we have to add Soul Calibur too in my opinion..
Your thoughts? StPerkele 20:37, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
I think we should remove the Abduction (2011 film), Hero Smah and Killzone 3 references, but the other three seem legit. The Palazzo Ducale is likely a glitch, but I think we should keep it just so people know about it. About LittleBigPlanet and having to add Soulcalibur, I think we should just add information on Ezio's appearance in Soul Calibur V when Soul Calibur V is released, just so we'll have accurate information on it ;)
Personally, I think we should remove the reference of Altair's skin in Prince of Persia: Prodigy, because I think that Prince of Persia: Prodigy is just another name for Prince of Persia (2008), isn't it? If the games are different, we should keep it, but if they're referring to the same game, then having it there is simply redundant :P
Here's a link to the Prince of Persia: Prodigy's CG trailer. I'm fairly certain that it's just Prince of Persia (2008).

Abduction, Killzone and Hero Smash removed ;)

When william is about to open the car doors at the end of Assassins Creed Revelations you can see a hooded figure through the left window wearing a brown robe. Possible star wars referance as it looked like obi-wan kenobi ?50.98.142.80 02:03, January 22, 2012 (UTC)

Is anyone sure if the Batman one is legit? Oh and has anyone mentione dthe Witcher 2 easter egg? Deniedoperative (talk) 06:09, November 19, 2012 (UTC)
Dracula[edit source]
Hey everyone, just found something that might or might not be considered as an easter egg, so I'm hoping for some professional judging. When i watched a gameplay video of Vlad The Impaler's Prison recently, I noticed something: The skull in the final cutscene when retrieving the sword (so to be perfectly accurate, the skull which is Vlad's head locked away in the cell) is missing all his teeth except for two long fangs. Considering that the Dracula myth partially evolved from Vlad, I reckon that this was intentional. StPerkele 22:40, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

- The fact that a key term, several key players, and an in-game nod to this guy and his findings kind of make it an Easter Egg. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 00:32, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
Almost none of the entries on the page are Easter eggs. Easter eggs are things like Ezio and the giant squid and Edward witnessing the squid vs whale fight. Not a mission kinda-sorta sharing its name with something else in the vast world of pop culture.
The Matrix[edit source]
I've noticed a similarity to the final words Ratonhnhaké:ton and Charles Lee spoke to each other to those of Agent Smith and Neo in The Matrix: Revolutions. Both Lee and Smith were asking the protagonists why they persist while the other party implies either they "choose to" or "no one else will".Soulrider28 (talk) 20:19, June 23, 2014 (UTC)
- I doubt this sort of dialogue is unique to The Matrix. --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:29, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

This is partially a question ... How do you activate his hood if you have re-bound the keys? if anyone knows could they note it in the pc bit of that one —unsigned comment by Hutchy01 (talk · contr)
Real-world media and weapons[edit source]
"Accompanying this, there was a glass case in Olivier Garneau's office containing several weapons, including a silver handled Syrian Sabre, Maria Auditore da Firenze's dagger, and four replicas of the double-barreled shotgun from Red Steel 2, another Ubisoft title."
This is also in ac rogue but with Altair's sword instead of the sabre and some other stuff. Not sure what the others are though, as I'm not on the game right now.

Mass Effect Reference[edit source]
In the first present-day "mission" of Black Flag, we get to met John Standish who greets the player with "Not fixing, calibrating", so I wondered if it was a reference to Garrus Vakarian in the Mass Effect series who says something similar, or just coincidental. 90.35.193.110 06:33, September 17, 2015 (UTC)MasterPotato
Not easter eggs[edit source]
Most of what's on this page isn't an easter egg by any definition, especially in the 'other media' section. They're cultural references.
King Arthur's Sword in AC1?[edit source]
In AC1 if you go to the Crusader's camp near Acre they seem to have a large hole dug out. If you go down there there are two flags but also a sword stuck to the ground in the middle. Should this be added as an excalibur sword referce?
