Eras

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone would mind if I set up Era icons for this Wiki? I'm an Admin for a few other Wikis, such as the Silent Hill Wiki and James Cameron's Avatar, and I set up the eraicons for each of them. They're essentially the icons you see on the top right of articles, linking to related categories and so forth. Any objections? I'll need someone to adjust the MediaWiki page for them to be visible, but we can deal with that when we come to it. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 20:12, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Awesome. I can handle most of what needs to be done. It's just a little graphic work and I can do all the Era and Eraicon template coding myself. I'll just need the MediaWiki page changed so that the eras will show up. Essentially they'll be icons which lead to categories such as "Characters", "Weapons", "Locations", and so forth. So Ezio's page would have icons for "AC2", and "Characters". Should only take me a short time to get the icons done and I'll let you know when to get the MediaWiki page fixed. Cheers! But that wouldn't be just a duplciate of the categories section at the bottom? What about icons for actual eras, like Middle Age, Renaissance and modern times? -- D. Cello 21:27, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Eras generally are a duplication, yes, but they're an aesthetical compliment that look good on the tope of pages. They're one of the first things people see when they load up a page, which makes it easy and convenient for people to find related articles. I do know that the Star Wars Wiki utilizes Eras for actual time periods, but most Wikis, such as the Halo Wiki, Resident Evil Wikis, just to name a few, utilize eras for categories. It's up to you, I'm fine either way. I just think category eras are useful. Here's a few examples of how they can be used:

I see... very well, do as you please. Maybe we could do both, e.g. Altaïr it would have Characters, AC1, Assassins and Middle Age icons? And if it isn't asking too much, maybe you could give a shot at the Template:Featured and Template:Good to make they work together, since you're at it? =]

I was going to suggest doing both. That works just fine! I'll get right on it. And yeah, Avatar was just plain awesome. Saw it at IMAX in 3D.

I'll probably do quite a lot. For example, objects that are tweaked or designed by Leonardo DiVinci will have a Leo icon. The beauty of Eras is you don't have to use them all, they're just there if you want them. Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 00:02, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

The eras really add a cool effect to articles, a more professinal look. The Featured and Good Articles Icon is working, but their position ain't locked to the title, but positioned on the page. I think they'll work better int he same line as the eras. -- D. Cello 01:06, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Groovy stuff, glad you're happy with the idea. Just so you know I'm making a start on them right now. You'll be able to see the progress on their respective Template:Era and Template:Eraicon pages. They'll start off small, and grow as I add icons. I'll need your help with the MediaWiki:Common.js code. The code for eras you can find here. However, I think this is what you need:

Icons

Hello, unfortunately if we put a line of 5 icons on the Main Page (Altaïr, Ezio, Weapons, Walkthrough, Achievements), it breaks the visuals for people with monitors of resolution 1024x768. This is probably the most common resolution out there, so I had to revert the edits which added the fifth icon (Ezio). Unfortunately I don't have the time to find a better solution that has all 5 rows, so all I could do was revert, I have to go do other things. Hi! This comment doesn't really mean much, nor is it directed at anyone in particular, but I just came over from the Call of Duty Wikia, following a spotlight ad, and I've gotta say, the theme, the site design, the graphics you guys picked, all that stuff, it's pretty impressive! Colours

Hey when i visit the AC wiki the colours changed overnight to white and blue instead of the orginal graphics. Is this just something i mith've clicked on or has something happened? --The eagle 07:50, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

I'm still seeing the original design with this background. Please check your preferences and see whether Let the admins override my skin choice is selected. If it is, then you shouldn't be seeing the sapphire version. If this continues, please can you drop a note via special:contact so it can be tracked as a bug? Unfortunately, this fix only seems to be available to registered users. So more casual visitors are stuck then with these hard to read blue links on a blue background? Is there no way to actually change this on the page itself without requiring users to register?

Total State of the Site

This is ridiculous. It's as if the moderators are doing nothing for this site. Can we please get some editing standards? Every article that I've read looks like a 7 year old did it.

New Assassin's Creed title?

does anyone know anything about an upcoming Assassin's Creed or something? I got Assassin's Creed 2 a week ago and i play non-stop! It's super addictive! I 've learned most moves and things and i have completed iot to 100% so I feel bored.

I think there is one coming out in November I think. From what I read on other sites, there is acctually a new assassins creed but it still features Ezio. On the plus side, I heard theres a lot of new weapons and a multiplayer mode. I think its called assassins creed brotherhood or something like that. The Speed Gamers to play Assassin's Creed for Charity

The Assassin's Creed/Prince of Persia Marathon starts August 20th at 6:00PM CST and will run for 3 days (72 Hours). hey brothers,

so i've been reading a lot about how lucy is a spy for abstergo and templars and stuff...without much support to it, tho, what if we think about it this way.

real lucy enters abstergo to work blah blah blah...

she helps design the animus machine blah blah blah...

then at some point abstergo finds out that she is an assassin's spy.

"abstergo kills her"

then replace her with leila marino or some other person to take her place.

well...no one really knows what lucy looks like before AC1 so abstergo could just easily switch her with one of their own who looks something alike her? that kinda fits with what juno was talking about and subject 16's words about "shes not who you think she is" subject 16 wouldn't know who "she is" if he haven't met her or know her!

I was also about to say that maybe the worlds all destroyed by nuclear war and blah de blah de blah but then I realized that you can run around as Desmond in Monteriggoni and that'd need a skydome and alot of work or what if its all an Animus within an Animus like Desmonds reliving reliving memories cause I don't know maybe Abstergo lost the tech to directly relive memories but I'm just rambling...

I was wondering about other people's ideas for modern times gameplay here are my ideas

-leap of faith into dumpters(but modern day assassins dont do that anymore just an idea)

-use guns when in open conflict and stealth when not

-more freerunning moves like vaulting and fliping

-for stealth they should let you take cover behind things and let you crouch

Assassins Creed 3?!

Ok the word is out that they are going to have an Assassins Creed 3! Still it is causing a lot of confusion and fighting from release dates to setting. New skin sux

Older was way better - better graphically and climatically, it also showed the series' iconic white colour theme. Skin doesn't hav to show chars from all series, it's often for wikias to have a skin just from the newest game/content etc. - here, it would be AC: brotherhood. Xeoxer 18:13, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Some questions...

Quick question, usually in games that have generally the same characters there can be bonuses unlocked by playing the previous game, I just wanted to know would there be any bonuses for Assassin's Creed Revalations if, for example I achieved the highest rank (rank 50) in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood?

As far as I can tell it says Lucy-you will know the truth

the end is the beginning

to see them on the vid you need to stop around 53-54 seconds in for the first message "lucy you will know the truth".

And for the second message stop around 55 seconds in to see the second message "the end is the beginning".

I'd like to see what you all think of this?

Lucy IS dead. The only way she is coming back is if the Assassins manage to recover the Eden artifact that possesses the ability to resurrect the dead (The Shroud). The reference to Lucy in the trailer is probably just a reference to the fact that she died in Brotherhood, or that Desmond is reflecting on the memory of her.

Profile issues.

I don't know why but it seems that the profiles are getting compressed so the tittle will be over text etc. I have seen it through out the wiki and frankly it annoys the hell out of me. Altair Multiplayer Skin

aspsToday I was checking to see what the different Revelation's editions offered and noticed that it said you could receive an "Ezio as Altair Multiplayer Skin" if you buy the Animus Edition at certain stores. I searched around for it and eventually found the Animus Edition with the Altair Multiplayer Skin... only to see that it said Singleplayer Skin.

Assassin's Creed Lineage

A great Assassin's Creed cinematic that you should see is "Assassin's Creed Lineage." Subject 16= Dead (SPOILERS)

Subject 16 was preserved into the animus but his body is gone(ALIVE) but when Desmond returns to the Animus Island for the 3 or 4th time unwillingly everthing is deleted but Desmond and Subject 16 pushes Desmond out before deletion so Subject 16 subconceince is dead so body and conceince is dead so no more 16. Hey guys, maybe it's not the place to ask but i got a little problem.

So i found the memoire pages and got the special armour but after i finished with a master assassin mission, the armour suddenly disapeared...does anyone know how i can reequip this or any other solutions? thnx

Revelations behind Revelations

Hi, I'd like to discuss the true meaning of the subtitle 'Revelations" in ACR. Forgive me if i put this in the wrong place, but I'm sorta confused and empty; what is the true revelation of the game? SPOILER AHEAD: yes, we learn Ezio gives up being an Assassin, we learn how Altair dies, bout the apple's fate. But what is the true revelation? There Are still many unanswered questions, like why does altair, ezio, and desmond have similar faces, like the scars? Also, why is desmond the one to do all this?
