This Spartan Spear was a type of throwing spear used in the 5th century BCE Greece, favored especially in Sparta, Lakonia.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra helped Zeuxo of Geronthai to deliver an important basket to her husband, Kalibos. In return, Kassandra received this valued spear.[1]
