Sinis Torture Grounds was a site of mythological significance located on the road between the Sanctuary of Isthmia and Port of Kechries in Korinthia, Greece.
In Greek mythology, the site was where the bandit Sinis tortured unwary travellers who passed through the area. Sinis would bend trees and tie the travellers to them. When the trees were released, they pulled the victims apart.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the site was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, the bones of Sinis' victims still clinging to trees and lying on the ground.[2]
