Saron Military Camp

The Saron Military Camp was a military camp east of the Club of Herakles in Argolis, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the camp was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra,, who eliminated the soldiers, the captain, burned their war supplies and claimed their valuables.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The name of the camp is likely a reference to Saron, a mythical king of Troezen, who drowned while chasing a stag into the sea. The Saronic Gulf and a town near Troezen was named after him.
