The Samurai Residence

The Samurai Residence was a residence for samurai situated in Sumoto in Awaji, Japan.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1585, the Kakushiba ikki member and Igan shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe infiltrated the residence after hearing of a report of a recently captured shinobi, whom she believed was her mother. Inside one of the buildings, she discovered the shinobi had been kept in the tenshu of Sumoto Castle. With this, she went to investigate this lead to find her mother.[1]

After finding herself captured, alongside her mother Tsuyu, by Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari. she soon learned of the Templars' search for the one of the Imperial Regalia, the Sword, from Tsuyu.[2] Fortunately, with the help of fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke, the three Assassins escaped the castle.[3]

Together, the three Assassins worked and successfully eliminated Yukari's taishōs,[4][5][6] effectively weakening Yukari's control over Awaji. To gain support, Naoe and Yasuke trespassed onto the residence after agreeing to help an old ashigaru clear his debt to Yukari. After taking the debt records, they returned to the ashigaru, who offered to raise support against Yukari.[7] At some point, they later infiltrated the residence again, found a treasure chest, and acquired the Fishscale Berserker Armor from its contents.[8]
