Saint Peter's Church

Saint Peter's Church was an Anglo-Saxon church in Wincestre, Hamtunscire.

History[edit | edit source]

In 877, a fake funeral was held for the Bishop Ealhferth in Saint Peter's Church's grounds by his sister Harriet to hide Ealhferth's actual motives. Upon her arrival, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan investigated the funeral to verify the bishop's death. Determining the truth, Eivor confronted Harriet about the deception, much to Harriet's shock. Harriet soon set soldiers on Eivor, who defeated them in combat, and was confronted again by the Viking. Harriet divulged that Ealhferth was going to confront King Alfred and have him step down, but Eivor knew better as she saw Ealhferth was going to assassinate Aelfred. She quickly left the sham funeral to save King Alfred.[1] Eivor also found a viewpoint atop of the church's cross.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The St. Peter's Church in Winchester is a Roman Catholic church, rather than a Protestant one.[3]
