Sæhrímnir was a creature from Norse mythology, being a beast that was killed and eaten every night by the Æsir and einherjar. Andhrímnir was responsible for preparing its meat.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin at Asgard, Odin was approached by Andhrímnir who sought his help in tracking Sæhrímnir down, after it had been restored to life and escaped Andhrímnir's kitchen. The pair, joined by many hunters, tracked Sæhrímnir to a nearby opening. Andhrímnir warned his men of the beast's deadliness but backed it up with how delicious he was. After Odin killed the beast, Andhrímnir praised his skill and promised the finest piece of the meat at the feast.[1]
