Port Auley
Port Auley was a ringfort on top of hill in northeastern Connacht, Ireland and at the mouth of the Ballaysadare River.

In the 9th century, Port Auley was a trading post specialized in trading ivory that had been abandoned and taken over by the druids of the Children of Danu. Between 879 and 882, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir assisted Azar by clearing the ringfort of the cultists and obtaining the deed poll to the site, allowing the re-establishment of the trade post connecting to Dublin.[1]
After talking to Ciara ingen Medba and Deirdre Na Linni about the Children of Danu's part in poisoning Flann's army, Eivor was given a clue, which led her to investigate an abandoned cottage near Port Auley, that was used by a departed friend of Ciara's and Deirdre's. From further investigation, Eivor recovered a note left by the deceased friend and the note dictated that The Wren met with a leader of the cult on an island of Lough Gara. From here, Eivor left to check out the clue found in the cottage.[2]

Auley is an anglicization of the Gaelic personal names Amhalghadh of unknown meaning and Amhlaoibh which in turn is derived from the Norse Olafr meaning "ancestor's descendant".
