The Pontikonisis Islet (Greek: Ποντικονήσι, literally "Mouse Island") is a small island located off coast of Korfu near the city of Korkyra. In Greek mythology, the islet was where the Greek god Poseidon transformed the hero Odysseus' shipwreck into an emerald rock.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra visited the island during her vacation in Korfu and looted a treasure chest that held several orichalcum ores.[2]
