Peter Bunyon was a Boston Brawler who fought Ratonhnhaké:ton in a fist-fight during the time of the American Revolution. Peter's defeat allowed Ratonhnhaké:ton to progress to the next fighter, "The Sailor".[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Peter Bunyon is an NPC introduced in Assassin's Creed III as a minor character. His name is most likely an allusion to American (and Canadian) folk hero and tall tale Paul Bunyan. His line about getting knocked "right on [his] arse" after being defeated by Connor is similar to a story where Paul Bunyan fights the Native American cultural hero Nanabozho where, like Peter Bunyon, he too gets beaten and knocked down, specifically on his backside.
