The Heredia estate in Old Castile

Old Castile is a historic region of Spain, whose origins are in the historic Castile that was formed in the 9th century.

History[edit | edit source]

During the Spanish Inquisition, the Heredia family owned an estate in the region.[1]

In 1489, after his family was executed by Tomás de Torquemada, the Rhodian Knights Hospitalier Horacio de Heredia returned to his estate, which had been claimed by Torquemada's sergeants. The Spanish Assassins travelled to the estate after learning of Horacio's situation and assisted him in eliminating the soldiers.[1]

Thereafter, the Assassins tracked down the sergeant overseering the guards at the estate, who had not been present during the attack. Locating him in a slum in the region, the Assassins killed him and a local slumlord.[2]
