Nottfall was a whaling village southeast of Stavanger in Rygjafylke, Norway.
The village came under the control of Kjotve the Cruel and his Wolf Clan during the 870s, who used it as a staging area to launch a sneak attack on the Raven Clan based in Fornburg. In 872, the Raven Clan led by Eivor Varinsdottir and Sigurd Styrbjornsson led a raid on Nottfall as a revenge for the sneak attack as well as to send a message to Kjotve. At the end of the raid, King Harald arrived in Nottfall to propose an alliance with the Raven Clan to settle the clan rivalry once and for all.[1]
