The Nachzehrer Cellar was a tavern in Vienna, Austria.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1853, Simeon Price, using the alias "Jack Straw," went to find János Libényi and inform him about the news of Karl Mayr's death. Meeting with local butcher, Joseph Ettenreich, Simeon was later met by János, who started to complain about the Emperor's lies about the Hungarian rebels and how Mayr was going to tear down his shop for a road. However, Price revealed that Mayr has died from his hands and Libényi rejoiced by paying for another round. Libényi promised Straw that he would repay the favor.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The word, "Nachzehrer," comes from German fables and loosely translates to a kind of "vampire."[2]
