Minotaur's Labrys

Jump to search
The Minotaur's Labrys was a colossal double-headed axe, or labrys, wielded by the Minotaur.
Description[edit | edit source]
Apparently forged in the Ancient Forge on the island later known as Andros, the Minotaur's Labrys was a Precursor relic designed specifically to be used by the Minotaur; itself a creation of the Olympos Project.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the labyrinth beneath the Knossos Palace in Messara and defeated the Minotaur. She then claimed the labrys as her own.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Minotaur's Labrys is a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and its design is based on the largely votive bronze 'double labrys', or quadruple-axes, complete with the rows of holes between the 'blades'.[3]
